Default OE GY Runflat Mileage

I do not believe the guy with 32,000 is still on the original tires.

They are great when under 10,000, but the closer you get to 15,000 or 20,000 the stiffer and crappier they get traction wise.
Believe it!! I have 40,500 miles on 3 of the original tires (not F1 Supercars though) on my 2007 purchased in Oct, 2006. The left rear was replaced under warranty because of a nail in the sidewall. From the mileage you can see the car is my daily driver (except in snow) not a garage queen. However, I do not feel the need to take every corner as fast as I can or see how much rubber I can leave at each light. GY have crappy traction and are noisy but they will last if treated properly. My next set will be either Toyo or Nitto for more traction (and less wear ).

bought mine with 21k on them and they now have 23K. they have a little left and I am researching what to replace them with over the winter. I don't know what they sound like new but with 21-23k miles they are noisy. Are new run flats quieter?

looking at other tires also.

You're right on with the price. I did get the warranty and sensor rebuild when I got mine at Discount Tire.

07' z51 here. Took off my tires at 10,000 miles with about 3/32's or 4/32's left. Front and back were just as bad.

Replaced them with a set of r888's. 2,000 miles in and still plenty tread left (well, as far as r-compounds go). I'll be ecstatic if I can get over 6,000 miles with these over the next year, which should include 3 or 4 more track days.

I just ordered a set of Kumho Ecsta XS KU36 tires for my 09 Z51 Vert. I have 21,000 miles on the GY Supercar tires which is about what I expected for them to last with a 220 wear rating. The Kumho's have even more grip in them with a 180 wear rating and were designed for the stock tire class in SCCA Autocrossing. Since I use a different set of tires and wheels for autocrossing (Kumho Ecsta V710's) I still wanted more grip than the GY Supercar tires could give me.

I replaced the first set at 42,000 miles. The second set has around 34,000 on them and can probably go another 8,000. They are beginning to be a bit noisy, but they still have good tread.

Check the front tires inside that is where my tires showed the most wear. I changed out at 17K on my 2005

3 sets of GY Supercars. 11,000 miles out of each set and they were toast.

My '05 will turn over 15,000 on my way to Road America on Thursday and my original runflats (Z-51 optioned car) are wearing evenly. I have done several autocross events with them and despite that I would estimate an additional 3-4,000 miles remain. Rather than replace them, though, I plan to replace the car this Fall with a '10 Z06.

That's a bummer, but i suspect that non-runflats probably should also be replaced under the same circumstances.

Just turned 15000 on my '08, Z51. Tires appear to be in excellent shape. No steering wheel vibration, no wandering on the freeways. I do love hurtling around "Dead man's curve" in Cleveland too.

I just replaced mine. I got 42K out of mine. I had an alignment problem and wore out the front passenger side tire. The others still had a few more tho[U]sand on them.

On my '08 Vert with Z51, the SC's are wearing in the center on the rears (about a 1/32" above the wear bars) with the left slightly more worn than the right. The outsides of the rears and all accross the fronts have 3-4/32" with under 12K miles. It looks like over inflation, but I run 32psi cold and usually don't drive that hard.

It will be Firestone W/O's soon.

It is the cost of going faster around a track, or for most owners, having bragging rights or looking cool. Happy motoring.
If you have a Z51 can you put the regular runflats on? Got a long ways to go (only 4300 miles) just looking ahead.

I had a similar problem on the 2006 Z51, dropping the pressure to 30 psi cold, like the sticker says, definitely helped.
