cant decide on gs! i want it really bad but my payment will go up about 200 a month i can afford it but its kind of scary in this economy. i have an 07 coupe which i am getting a decent trade in price. it has 12 thousand miles and my warrantys up in february. is this the best time to trade it in or should i wait a year or two and trade it in on a used gs? this gs is my dream corvette black with chrome wit the zo6 styling with the removable roof and a6 tranny. any advice?
i've been thinking of the gs too. mine is a 2007 and it just turn 10,000 miles. the hard part is that i'm here in hawaii. if i trade it in, i'm sure i won't get a good deal if i go to the dealerships here. i don't think the dealer will go below msrp here in hawaii. but how can i do the out of state purchase again (got it at les stanford). i don't think i could trade it with them while i'm overseas. i guess the best bet is sell it privately, then order again. i think i only saved $1,500 from my out of state purchase due to i have to pay the dealership $2,500 for the courtesy drop and then the sales tax ($2400). so there goes the discount i got from out of state purchase...that's it, i'm keeping my 2007

I feel for you... The dealers have you trapped and they know it. Consequently, not many if any of them discount much on anything they sell. I went to buy a new truck when I was living over there and I got so frustrated I literally almost got into a fist fight with one of the salesman. It's too long of a story to post here, but it was certainly eventful. The end was comical, I pulled out into traffic in front of the dealership and the salesman was running along side my car knocking on the window begging me to come back in. Good luck!

Yup, my wife was sitting on the passenger side looking at me like I was crazy for not acknowledging him, but I just kept driving. It was bumper to bumper traffic (as usual) in downtown Honolulu in front of the Ford dealership and traffic was moving slowly. He finally gave up after about a hundred yards. I've told the story over beers with friends many times and it always gets a lot of laughs.
