Default C6 Alignment Question

Bought an 08 brand new and after about 6,000 miles I think it might need an alignment. When I brake, it pulls to the left. Going down the highway, have to hold the wheel slight right to keep it from going left. The first Chevy Dealer I took it to said it would be in for a couple days so they could figure out if it needed an alignment. The second Chevy Dealer said it would only take a few hours. It's all covered under warrenty until 7,00 miles (if i remember right?) Anybody got any input on how long it takes or if an alignment is even the problem? Thanks!

If it pulls when you brake, that is a brake issue. Pulling one way or the other going down a flat smooth road is an alignment issue. These cars really like to follow the "tracks" in the road surface, so be sure you are on a good road to see if it pulls one way or the other.

Many report here on the forum all the time about excessive tire wear on their new Vettes as the alignment from the factory on "some" cars is off a bit.

Oh, and 2 hours is more than enough for even a 4-wheel alignment.

I'm with Swiftrider. Even if you may have something wrong with a frontend component, they will be able to find that when they lift it. Shouldnt take 2 days.......

If they keep it for more than a day, be sure to record the mileage in and out. Five miles might be reasonable for diagnosis and testing, any more than that and someone is out having fun in your car.

The local dealer performed my alignment in about 2 hours. I think it is covered for the first 6500 miles.

with everyone above. I just had new Michelin PS2 ZP's installed and a full four wheel alignment done at the same time. The entire job took less than three hours: tire replacement, "road force" balancing, and full alignment.
