Default Factory NAV CD failure
Has anyone had experience with a failed factory NAV CD reader? It will not recognize a standard CD or an MP3 CD anymore. I started noticing the problem with hard acceleration on my MP3 mix CD. It would hang and I would have to eject it and put it back in.

Why not disconnect the battery cable for five minutes or so to allow all power to burn off and then reconnect. It might solve your problem.

Some cars have problems with home-burned CD's, if that's what you are using then you might try a factory one for comparison.

My cd player started locking up the NAV system, so things wouldn't boot all the way unless I ejected the CD and re-inserted it. Then it was fine till the next time. The dealer replaced it and no problem since.

to clarify - the standard CD is pure unadulterated, unpirated actual purchased CD...

I spoke with the deler and my MPP third party warranty will cover this, no deductible.

Never had the experience because the hoops you had to go through to create an MP3 disk pissed me off so much I just replaced the unit with a Pioneer AVIC-D3. I have my factory unit in a box if you want to make an offer...

I have a program called Media Monkey that will generate folders and filenames however you want (really, very versatile) and format in any format you want. It can also auto convert to any format, audio leveling, bit rate, etc!

I use it flawlessly for the vette.


ETA: New unit is installed! Woo Hoo!
