When I had a Porsche convertible i did a electrical mod that would allow you to be moving at slow speed and the top still complete the up or down movement. You could start it going down or up while stopped and move slow so the wind would not cause an issue and it would complete the movement. The Corvette top on the 2008 will not work either if not stopped in park. Is there a mod to changed this?

Mine is a manual trans....so the trans is not part of the equation...don't know about an auto...

Very simple, just pull the handbrake up one click....its not enough to actually activate the brake, but it tells the computer that its OK to move the top. I used it to put the top up and down in heavy freeway traffic when I was in LA...gets fun looks from people...

Thanks for the idea.

Thanks what is the normal requirement to lower the top on the manual. if it requires that the handbrake be on then i see how this would work but it is not a requirement for the auto. Park and there is not a partial thing i can do with this action. unless i hear from someone else on a different fix i will try this just to see. Thanks again.

i understand and i never was moving over 5 miles per hour or very slow to do this on the Porsche and would keep speed down to same with Corvette.

On the manual, the DIC will tell you to apply the parking brake when you push the button for the top. The parking brake is the key....gear does not matter. This works great when just rolling...maybe 15mph max...
Nice to know it works on auto trans also! And one click on the parking brake isn't enough to be a problem there at 15mph for a couple of hundred feet...

Drifting
nice to know-will try mine tonight. Even though I may never use it I have had occasion to be in slow traffic and it started to rain (does that with sunny skies here in south Ga. afternoons). Sure will be nice to be putting the top up during a slow roll.

Yes, and check out one of the first scenes in the latest Star Trek movie with a young JT Kirk driving a convertible corvette....

I wouldn't recommend slow rolling a vette. The fuel system is not rated for inverted flight of any duration.
