Default New runflat recommendations?

I am interested in new tires--runflats (I know that will inspire a whole thread in itself!)--to replace my Eagle A1s that came stock on the 07. Can I get some recommendations? Really looking for a smoother ride this time, if that is possible with RFs. Thanks for any help

Default No kidding on this subject,,lots of chat for sure

I have read a lot of them and kind of think I'm heading for the Fire Hawk wide ovals... Seem to be a bit nicer on the ride and for sure on the pocket book! Of couse then you have the debate on why to even stick with run flats, e.g. will you really ever benefit from them? Good Luck on your rubber quest..........

I'm looking at the Firestones as well. I heard that thay can't be fixed if you get a nail or whatever. Not sure about that.

As far as if you'll ever use runflats... It's like insurance in my book. You have health and life insurance and hope you never have to use them. Same with runflats. If you really need the slight extra preformance of non-runflats for racing get yourself an extra set of wheels/tires and swap them out when you need to.

As has been said a thousand times before - Firestone. I got 'um. Wouldn't consider anything else at this point.

I believe I have seen a post or two that you can plug one of these as long as it does not exceed a certain size...??

Firestone and Michelin seem to be most popular in all the threads on the subject.
When the time comes I'll be going with Runflats also.
And, from reading all the posts and info on the tire websites, ...
I favor Michelin.

But that's just me

I recently got new tires. I also wanted to keep the peace of mind that runflats provide. Reading literally hundreds of "testimonials" further clouded the dilema of changing to a tire other than GoodYear. Too many contradicting posts on the subject...most of which I found to be vague and poorly substantiated. I may experiment on the next set of tires...but I wish there was a way to "test drive" my car with different tires. It's kinda like buying a car - you have to test drive it to know if you'll approve ot its motoring qualities. I replaced mine with the factory original GoodYear F1 Supercars.

Default Tires

After replaceing OEM Goodyears with the Firestone Wide Oval RF,it would be very hard to prove to me their is a quieter, better handleing,RF on the market. When comparing prices the Firestones were about 300.00 dollars cheaper in this area. Having driven for 56 years on all kind of tires I would recommended Firestone after just completeing a 4853 mile trip on them. By the way,I had a very bad experience with the Firestone in the early 80,s and swore I would never use them again. Glad I did.
