Kevin, if you mean the stock, gray/silver painted wheels, I'd use (and have used when I had them on my car) either Meguiar's all wheel cleaner sprayed on cool wheels (not just run and hot), or just car soap, rag and water. If you keep after them and don't let the dirt and brake dust (especially) build up, you probably won't need anything more than the car soap.

what is a good wheel cleaner that won't damage brake linings and not harm stock corvette wheels.
Most wheel cleaners have acid of some sorts as a base this will cause the leaf springs to delaminate and break and not be cover under your warranity.

I like Eagle One A-to-Z Wheel and Tire Cleaner. It won't remove embedded brake dust, but removes surface brake dust easily. It's also a very good tire cleaner. It's convenient having two products in one. IMO, it's the best OTC wheel cleaner.
Advance Auto sells a similar product. It's kind of like a generic A-to-Z (not made by E1). It's not quite as good as the E1, but it's less expensive (a bigger bottle for less money). It used to look and smell very much like the E1, but the bottles I've bought lately have a bit of the acid-type smell that many other wheel cleaners do. The E1 doesn't smell bad.
As advised above, make sure the wheels are cool before using a wheel cleaner.
Pride wheel cleaner...By far the best and you could leave it
on the wheel for 3 days in the Arizona sun...It will take off any brake dust and not harm your wheels...Look up Stone Soap on the internet..They only sell by the 5 gallon pail...Very high professional...25 years experience detailing...
I"ve had Comp gray, standard gray, now I have polished and my Cobra has chrome (you wouldn't believe the dust from Brembos!) All I ever use is soap and water.
If you get them clean and then keep them waxed good old soap and water will do fine.
I have a black/ebony 08 C6 coupe DD.
So I must wash it every other day to keep it looking good.
I apply a coat of Meguiars Gold Class paste wax to the factory chrome wheels at least once a week.
So by washing and waxing the wheels on a regular basis brake dust bonding to the wheels is never a problem for me.

P21S and Griots are the only two wheel cleaners I trust on my OEM wheels and also my Iforged Uncoated Wheels. There is a difference in safety and why we carry both.
The factory painted and polished wheels are clearcoated, treat them as you would any painted part of your car. Regular car wash soap works fine on them and the Chrome plated wheels...
