camaro vs vette
friend of mine put a down payment on a ten camaro. RS SS loaded and at that time (April) they couldnt get a build date. Well, 5-6 months later they still cant give him a build date. They dont know if its next week or next year????? He got his down payment back and is looking at a vette maybe but may get nothing now cuz he's ticked. Pretty sad when a guy wants to pay cash for a car and 5-6 months later he walks away do to frustration. I hope this is a exceptional case. regards, paul

I see plenty of them out there on dealer lots.
Add 20k for the vette and lose the backseat.

The key is whether or not the dealer has an allocation. Ordered Rally Yellow, black stripes, transformers edition from my dealer on 8/11 and its TPW was 9/7. Expect the car in 2-3 wks. Like the Vette, if no allocation, no car.

That is sad, but there are PLENTY of 2009 and 2010 Vettes out there. He should be able to find exactly what he is looking for in a 'Vette! Yellow?, we got that!!! I understand from what I have read that the RS Camaro is in pretty restricted production.............

Go to a dealership that would be more than happy to sell him a car. There are a few dealerships here that have SS Camaros on the lot.I would like an SS as a stablemate for my C6, but never as a replacement.

We cancelled our order for an RS because of the long wait times. The car was going to be the wife's daily driver. She went with a Pontiac G8 GT instead. She loves the new car, but wishes she could have scored the Camaro's V6 gas mileage.

It sounds like the dealer doesn’t have allocation. 
Nothing pisses me off more than a dealer that will accept a customer order knowing damn well he has no allocation to get the car built.
That is the very reason I bought an in-stock 2009 C6, because local dealer allocation for the 2010’s was very sketchy back in July. Most had already placed their stock order(s) and said “maybe” they could get one built for my order. I never order a car on “maybe”.
My local Chevy dealer has 5 Camaros on his lot right now…2 are SS/RS…the C6 is a much better choice (the interior of the new Camaro gives me the dry heaves).

Six Speed manual goes 0-60MPh in 4.9 seconds
1/4 mile time in 13.4 secs @ 108 mph
2010 Camaro SS Automatic 6.0 litre 400HP
0-60 MPH @ 4.6 secs and 1/4 mile time in 13.3 seconds
2006 Z51 LS2 6.0 litre 400hp Standard Corvette engine
0-60 MPH in 4.2 seconds
1/4 mile time in 12.51 secs @ 113mph which is quicker than a Porsche 911 Carrera or Jaquar XK8 and comparable to a Ferrari F340.
2010 LS3 litre 430 HP Standard GS Corvette engine (436 with optional exhaust)

love the camaro........but that dash looks just horrific.....along with the steering wheel being granny style it made me absolutely steer away from it....saw it in person, i just doesnt feel like a performance car inside.
