I'm about 7 1/2 hours from Bowling Green and trying to decide (even though delivery is about 2 months away) if I want to drive the car home or put it on a car trailer and haul it myself. 75% of me wants to drive it home, but rocks, rain and bugs are unbearable to think about. Won't be as bad on a trailer.
My question, is how does it strap down? Are there places under the vette made specifically to hook straps/chains to? I know, it's a stupid question, but you don't know if you don't ask.
4 holes in the frame,, just like my c5,,, heres how i do it,,,, but let me tell ya,,, I drove my c6 home last year from the museum 580 miles,, not one rock chip or blemish,,,DRive It!!! Enjoy IT!!
Vettes are made to drive and we took delivery at the Museum last Sep and drove home 1,000 miles and zero issues. I just put on a fresh coat of Rejex before the trip
Point taken! Wass, I was thinking of other vehicles kicking them up in front of me. Devilin, good idea about the bra. Suggestions on where to purchase?
Thanks,
Billy
Here's a little tip I used while driving mine home. Go to your local hardware store and buy a couple rolls of that blue painters tape that doesn't leave any residue after you pull it off. Put it underneath the bra so the bra doesn't rub against the fresh paint while you're enjoying it at 75m mph. When you get home, take off the bra and tape and you're good to go.

I just put 3500 miles on my vette this past weekend going all through the Smoky Mountains. Probably had 100 or so miles on gravel roads and not one chip or bug stuck. I did tear the front corner air dams off but Oh well. Going by today to pick up some new ones.
I wasn't worried about it either as that would have put a damper on the trip worring about such things and what roads to take. I took any road paved or otherwise that struke my fancy. We wre able to see some truley great scenery.
Ride and enjoy. It's just a car and can be fixed if necessary.
RLSebring, I hear ya. And that's what I keep telling myself. It's just a car. Myself just ain't listenin'. It keeps sayin', "It's not a car. It's a Corvette!"
BTW, I'm just up the road from you in Atmore, AL. Roll Tide! Do like to watch Tim Tebow though. Talented guy.
