I have a 07 with 23,000 miles, a daily driver that I bought new. About a couple of months ago I noticed a funny low level noise coming from what seems to be the passenger side dash. The noise went away. I just recently drove the 07 to Daytona Beach from Charlotte and the dash noise could be heard over the radio for the first time. During the trip the noise would quiet down and some times go away. This issue has been on he forum before but I saw no fixes. Is there a GM warranty issue on this?
Also, is there a GM warranty issue on the rear end suspension for the 07 that requires a new fluid change?
Thanks again for all the Forum's help. You helped me fix the pop on both my Targa roofs.
I have this same noise off and on. My passenger and I were putting our hands all over the interior trying to isolate it but no luck. We finally decided that it was coming from the dash right in front of the passenger seat. I'd be interested on finding out what it is also!
Could be trouble with the HVAC. Sometimes the actuator(s) malfunction and tear the shroud that controls the various air flows,ie defroster/blower direction. To eliminate an HVAC problem switch the controls to the various positions. If the air is directed to the selected mode and you are getting proper heat and AC than you can eliminate the HVAC . Clicking noises at initial start will also indicate an HVAC malfunction..
The next time you hear the noise try turning on recirculation... If the noise goes away you know its the HVAC... That's where my dash rattle was coming from. Haven't taken it to the dealer yet though.
Thanks for the info about the recurculation button. I changed the cabin filter and that made no difference. Since Autumn has arrived I will be driving with the HVAC system off. The AC was on all the way to Daytona. I have had the HVAC system on for over 4 hours on a cruise before and I have never heard a noise until this year. Since this noise seems to be a problem with more than one C6, I'll write back when I hear it again and try your fix by messing with the HVAC. As in a old Droppy cartoon, "I Hate Noise".

Read the link and found the rubber material below the A-piller on the passenger side was not in it's slot. Pushed it in. I'll have to wait to see if it cures the vibration.
Thanks,
Jim

I had the chatter in my 08 coupe at about 8,000 miles, changed to Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90. Basically the same as the Dexron, but it only cost $8.99 per qt. at AutoZone, not the $23 plus the Dexron cost. Three quarts of the Mobile 1 for just over the cost of one Dexron, with enough left over so only two will be needed for the next change. The fill, 2.11 quarts, was easy and no additional friction modifier was needed since it is already in the Mobile 1.
The drain/fill plugs were easy to unscrew with a 10mm hex, the old lube was drained, which was beginning to turn dark, the new Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90 was installed. It was a short slow drive to a location for the figure eights. The TSB recommended 8-10 tight figure eight maneuvers to heat the fluid and allow the fluid to be worked into the clutch plates.
At speeds below 50mph the vibration is very low and still present even after attaching the passenger A-pilar molding and shutting off the HVAC system and turning ON the re-circulator. Last thing for me to try is to remove the dash speaker grill and check for lose connections. Can someone tell me how it pops come off?
If this fails, the 07 will go Chevy while on vacation at the end of the year to have the rear lube changed and to investigate the mysterious noise. I'll at least get it documented.

Thanks to all,

You are not going to see too much with grill off.
To remove use a pry tool or wrap a large screw in a couple layers of masking tape. Protect the dash and wedge the tool and lift up firmly. I believe there are 3 prongs, in the middle and at the 2 at the ends .
occasional intermedent dash noise - Placed masking tape on window and rubber seal in front of passenger - Noise went away - I do not want tape on permanently - Any suggestions on permanent fix?

Cleanong Cabin air filter did not help.
Placing a small amount of contact cement between the glass and the inside edge of the rubber on the cowl most likely will stop the noise. The other option is to replace the cowl. Corvette Tech at the dealer said this is a common problem with several Chevrolet models. On one other model the TSB fix was to use double sided tape between the glass and the rubber inside edge on the cowl.
On my 2009 Coupe the contact cement worked great, without having to replace the cowl.
On my 2009 Z06 there has been no noise, or buzzing sound from that area around the cowl and windshield.

My 08 coupe had a vibration noise coming from the upper dash near the windshield on the passenger side. The vibration would occur at 60+ mph, especially on windy days. Check your windshield cowl trim to see if the rubber seal rest ageist the windshield. If not, mask tape the rubber seal to the windshield and take it for a test drive. If the vibration stops you have several options: 1. replace the cowl trim. 2. apply a clear sealant or double sided tape between the windshield and cowl trim.
I had my cowl trim replaced 3 days before my bumper to bumper warranty expired. I have the GMPP extended warranty, however it is not covered under the GMPP warranty!
