dash lights dimmer ?

dash lights dimmer ?
I am new ownerof 09 coupe and the dimmer control seems to have little/marginal range from low to high on the dash lights. Yes Ihold the switch as stated in the owners manual.Anyone else expierence this?

Daylight or dark? Can't really see what you're doing unless you are in the dark and have the lights on.

The switch is about the same quality as the ashtray cover. 
It has a limited range of adjustment, even if held. It's also the on/off switch for the interior lights on the mirror, so be careful you don't accidentally push it in. There is no indication that it is in the on or off position....brilliant engineering.
