I like red. I do not want to have an orange tint to a red. I currently own a LeMans Blue CE '04. Looking at Grand Sports. I see that they have a NEW Torch Red. I am looking for comments on Torch Red and if there is anything NEW for 2010 Grand Sports or did they mean bringing back the old Torch Red ? Photos welcome. Anyone in South West Ohio ? I would love to inspect a NEW Torch Red. Thanks for reading.
AKAIK, the new Torch Red is identical to the one used on C5's. We had a Torch Red C5 and the color looked great on cloudy days or in slightly dim light, better than the Victory Red we had on our 2006 and now have on our 2009.
But on a bright sunny day, the Torch definitely has an orange tint to it and I don't like that as much.
When we were looking for our 2009, I preferred Victory Red and was happy to find one. But if only Torch Red had been available, I would have taken one and never looked back.
If you want a red more like candy apple, not at all orange tinted, look at Crystal Red Metallic. It is the number one choice on convertibles. Of course it is an extra cost option.
I had a Torch Red C5 and now have a Torch Red C6 Vert. In certain lighting conditions, yes, it does have a slight orange tint to it. I very much like it -- to me, it's the "traditional" Corvette Red. I was told at the NCM they brought it back this year in response to customer demand.
Color choices are always a personal thing, though, so if you can, it's best to see one in person. I'm betting you'll like it.
At the National Corvette Museum during the 15th Anniversary Celebration the had a Base C6, a Grand Sport, a Z06, and a ZR1 on display all in Torch Red. I have an 05 C6 in Victory Red and I prefer it to the Torch Red. The Torch Red they are now using is pretty much the old Torch Red and yes it has an orange tint to it. These cars were very nice but I do prefer the Red of Victory Red much more.

I completely agree. I had a Torch Red C5 and I prefer Victory Red.
Torch Red definetly has an orange hue to it..My C5 was torch red. Victory Red is a deeper, darker red.
When I ordered the C6, I wanted the fastest color, so I looked at what color the C6R's were..
Today, at the Mid-America show in Effingham IL, my Victory Red was parked next to a Torch Red. That did it for me....Victory Red is my RED, but, without a comparison like that..I think Torch Red would be ok.
