Just curious what's the mileage on your 2005? I am still on my original air filters also.
I've got 28,000 miles on my C6.
I remove and blow-out the filters with my electric leaf blower every year, but that only removes the larger stuff. I think it's time to replace them.

I replaced mine a couple of months ago. I went with Gene Culley and GM. 05/29,000 mi. At this rate the next time I change it the car will be 10 yrs old. I kept it stock.

No way a k&N is going in my vette....I tried one in my 65k miles V6 ranger and did TWO 1000 mile tests back to back with paper, same weather, same roads same routes and the K&N didn't make any difference accept it filters less dirt than paper...no difference in the SOTP meter either. In fact the paper filter had 2k miles on it when I started the tests.

K&N..the marvel mystery oil of filters.
Marvel Mystery oil filter aka: K & N
Plus whenever you do clean it you will need 2 more filters while the 2 you just cleaned need to dry especially depending on the down time as you may need to drive car sooner than when those K & N's are dry.
