I have a 6 speed manual tran 05 Vette. Can it be push started like older cars by turning on the key and allowing the car to roll and then popping the clutch. If so what do you do to the start switch.
Yes. To energize the ignition, just hit the start button without depressing the clutch pedal. Let her roll and drop the clutch. Just like the old days.
You can also energize the ignition system by holding the accessory side of the start button for 10 seconds.
I know people are going to jump up and down saying this isn't recommended by GM but it isn't going to hurt anything.

Have you done this?
A prior thread seems to indicate it's a little more involved than that.
The only controversy in the older thread was about how dead a battery would have to be for the car to start. Basically, if the computer will start up when you push the start button without depressing the clutch then in all likelyhood the car will start by rolling the car.
OH YEA!
Battery going bad so it did not have enough juice to turn the starter motor but would energize all the electronics. Turned off the radio, air and all lights. Push the button with out pushing in the clutch, this turns the car on without trying to start. Have wife (ha ha) push car, with car in gear and clutch pushed in, pop clutch. Starts just like my old 66 Nova with three on the tree.
