Does anyone here have problems with their nav not reading certain mp3 discs???
Whenever I switch from mp3 to audio cd, it occassionally will not even read the disc and say "No Cd Loaded" and then i have to swipe an index card inside the unit where I hear it "reset" and then it begins to read the cd...
weird...
I'm so confused...
Funny thing is it only does it SOmetIMES so I cannot even take this to the dealership because they most likely will not believe me.
An index card is a small rectangular piece of thin cardboard or thick paper, suitable for writing on, frequently ruled on one side or both. Popular sizes in North America include 3x5" (76x127mm) and 5x8" (127x203mm).
From your description it sounds to me like you have an issue with the read head not traveling all the way to the end of its travel. I would try cleaning it with compressed air. Since you are out of warranty I would not go to a dealer. Someone who specializes in mobile audio would be a better choice to get it cleaned and see if that completely solves the problem.

Ok...funny, funny. Right after I posted my dumb question, I thought of that too but oh well. Yeah, I have to think that fortmorgan is on the right track. The mechanism is having issues. An index card will probably end up scratching the laser lense itself too possibly rendering the system worthless.
