Do you happen to know if the headers and cats has an impact on the warranty?

I notice the older crowd (who typically drive vettes) tend to go for the NPP with mild-to-wild switch. The younger guys with vettes tend to go for louder pipes and put up with the drone 24/7.

That maybe true. Us older guys appreciate our hearing and want to keep what we have left. Younger guys are more likely to think they are invulnerable,

Great clip, Wass. Nasty sounding Vette. What cam and headers you have with that?

The ability to make it loud or keep it stock.. is very cool...
Keeping it stock and avoiding warranty hassles is also a plus..

After completing the second pass, you will hear me back up into my driveway from the road, and I let the car idle for a while.

That's the video that convinced me to get NPPs for my '06. I had Corsa Sports and loved them on my "stock" engine setup. However, as soon as I put in a cam and headers, I absolutely hated them. They definitely sounded "Euro" all the time; even with my stock setup. The NPPs sound deeper and have a more "American V8" sound than the Corsas did. My NPPs with Ed's Mild to Wild switch are awesome now. I generally run with them open but I like the ability to close the flaps when I want to. The drone in my vert is absolutely horrible with the flaps open but it was just as bad if not worse with the Corsa Sports once I got headers and the new cam. I don't know how bad the drone would be with a stock engine and NPPs.

Default Love it

I hear some old school feeling like Wayne O's and the I like to roar all day vs flipping a switch,, But if the basic question is does the NPP sound good enough to pick it vs the Corsa....? IMHO it is the best of both worlds... 1) its factory installed and warranted, 2) the sound is solid, 3) if you go with the M2W set up like many of us you can enjoy the sound when you like and flip the switch when your other half says "that's kinda loud isn't it"... To me I think the chevy boys were trying to capture the right sound they believed we wanted and did a pretty good job! Beyond this its way way too subjective to get a complete forum stamp from everyone... just my 2 cents!

I already posted my thoughts on the NPP in this thread.
But I see a lot of talk about how the Vettes have a Euro sound.
They do ... because the firing order of the LSx engine was changed some time back from Traditional GM V8's
Better breathing, performance, idle etc etc. whatever
These engines no longer have that Tradition GM V8 muscle car sound.
Different exhausts may hide the Euro sound a little,... but it's still there in the way the engine runs.
I was surprised when I got my Vette at what the engine/exhaust sounded like.
I like it, but it's Definitely not old school V8 rumble.
From all the Vettes I've listened to that have aftermarket exhaust, to my ears .. does not get rid of that Euro sound.
Yes they might be Louder and more aggressive than the NPP but the Euro sound is still there.
I did find if someone installed a Cam, the sound gets Closer to the Tradition V8 sound, but still not there totally.
All this does not change the firing order
So to get to my point and touch on my previous post.
The NPP sound in "my" opinion is as good as some of the after market systems.
None of the systems sound the same and it seems some think just because NPP is factory ( option ) from GM it's just a factory exhaust, ho hum, and they need to get a Real exhaust

Everyone has different tastes and not saying every wants or will want the NPP.

But, I think the NPP "sound" is right up there with a lot of the Aftermarket systems and needs serious consideration when looking for an Exhaust system.
Just my extra 1 cent

Hey Dif, your one cent and my couple cents = a solid 3.. I agree 100% The NPP system has to be at least considered as one of the better ones, but not only ones... to each, his own ear!

AR headers w/high flow cats and a custom ground ECS cam. The car gets a lot of attention since the addition of the cam. Much more than I expected.

That was also the vid that gave me the final push to NPP. I said to myself "that car screams at full tilt, it cant be that loud it must be really good microphone in camera". My car doesnt have a Hi-po cam, but it has a Vortech T trim and headers. It sounds about the same under full throttle. From 4000rpm up its ferocious! Glad it has the NPP in a box to tame the roar when needed.
