I store mine in the garage, however the garage is opened almost every day for foot traffic. The biggest reason I use the carbag is that when the car is cold and the air warms up, condensation builds on the surfaces of the car thereby producing rust. The carbag prevents this since it's a vapor barrier and dessicant is used inside the bag. No air exchange occurs so once you seal up the bag with the dessicant, you'll have absolutely no oxidation during the storage months, no rust on the rotors or underside aluminum components, no mildew smell when you first open the car, etc., etc.

What really hooked my on this system was when I had my Grand National. I stored that during the winter. One spring, when I backed her out of the garage, I had a 4 foot rust "line" on the garage floor. It was from the condensate that collected on the drive shaft and rusted the drive shaft and dripped to the floor. That's when I saw for my own eyes what storing a car in a garage without protection could do.

Best of luck for you with what you choose.

The cover from WalMart looks fine and should do the job, it will not be an exact fit but then again it will not cost you $200+ . I store mine for approximately 4 months or more during the Winter. I hook up a battery tender, put the cover on it and in the Spring it is fine. No issues, no rust or whatever. Good luck.

I have used a light taffeta dust cover ($25) but inthehunt2 is right that you will get condensation and rust unless you seal the car or the floor. Much of the moisture comes through or out of a concrete floor. Check the humidity level in your garage and I think you will find it is almost always 100%

Not sure if I would get the high humidity from the garage floor, my floor has an epoxy coating over it, an it may help little,

don't know if that's the price, $75, that I saw, but the question I have is why pay that much? if it's not going to be a beauty queen, special, fitted, super whammy car cover, why not buy the least expensive but thick enough to protect the sides of your car, car cover? (how's that for a long sentence! )

at all of the auto stores, and even the warehouse stores, you can find $30-$40 evolutions, noahs, etc. that kind of drape over the car, and if you bump it with another car door or the snow blower/lawn mower, nothing happens. jmo, but that's what I've got in the garage.
