I do...love it. It was my first vette experience when I was in my very early 20's. Back then in Vancouver there were not many around...made it that much more special...ohhh the x-rated memories...lol.
However, be forwarned that a lot can go wrong with it...have it inspected carefully.
Never had a C4 but I like the way the whole front end opens up and you can see the suspension. They seem real cheap but some had issues with the ignition system I think. It is probably the least favorite of the Corvette generations but I'll take a C4 over a later C3 in a heartbeat.
i had a '96 grandsport for 10 years.. i still think it had the most comfortable seats of all the vettes i've had. i sold it when i retired to buy my little place in the country.. to say i liked it?? yeah, i really liked it and do miss it...
My first two Vettes were C4s, an '89 and a '95. Both autos. Price was right and it got me started. Went to the 2001 next and last year got my '08 coupe. These cars get better with each generation. You should go for it.
I got my 96 Lt1 new back in 96 DRAG RACED it for over 10 years.. never had any engine problems... (had to replace the Dana 36 with a Dana 44) rear end.. but otherwise it was a GREAT CAR !! I do miss it...
If you like it and it checks out ok , I say go for it!!
A '93 was my first vette. I still like them when I see them on the road. I do prefer my Z06 though. They were good for their time. Back in '92 300 hp was a lot. We had to have C4's before we could have C5's and C6's.
All Corvette generations have their ups and downs. The C-4's seem to have more advertised issues than the other generations. I would think that is due the the change from the basic C-2 and C-3 technology to a more modern electronics and vehicle management systems. I like how they look but am a little gun shy of the inherent issues of the car.
My wife has a 2007 C6, was going to sell my 93 Ruby, but I love driving that car. The C6 is faster but the C4 is still a ton of fun to drive (it is lower and has more race car feel), looks as good as the C6, IMO, and it attacts more as much if not more attention than the C6.

I've had C3s, C4s, C5s and now a C6. I like the 4 least of all. Mechanically, they're much better than the 3, but I like the looks of the 3 better. My final C4 was a 96 with LT4. Great car.
My buddy stopped by today with his Convertable 96 Grand Sport and it looked amazing! Seats were some of the best I have ever seen in a Vette. It comes with an LT4 and he had long tubes with a MagnaFlow exhaust. Sounded Mean! Great, Great looking car!!! I believe he said it had 36K miles. If I was going to get a C-4, I think it would have to be a GS or one of the 96 Anniversary M-6 cars with an LT4 Motor.
