If they have the same miles and compare in other ways, tire wear ,ect. I would go with the 05. I had a C5 that did not have HUD and I swore I would not have another without it. I could not see the speedometer between 5 and 45 mph because the steering wheel blocked the view. I have an 06 3LT that has nav. but no Z51. I could get by without the nav. but I like the radio displays on it so I am glad it is there. I don't run it hard so the Z51 is not needed. If it were me I would go for the 05 for the HUD alone.
Are you all crazy??? Take the '05. As someone who underbought their '08, trust me...if you dont take the one with the options you want (and with half the miles), you will be sorry later. Unless, as others have pointed out, you are tracking this car, you will be much happier with the '05.
From all the stuff you posted, I would get the 05 because aside from the HUD, the memory seat is great. It will move all the way back to let you out and then back to the driver position when you get back in. You will use this feature more than anything else (in my opinion). Did not use heated seat at all since I am in CA. The 6 disc is nice. Then there is the side airbag which is a nice safety.
I would still wait a little while and see if other nice deals comes up or make a low offer on the 05. Winter is coming plus both cars will be 1 year older in about 45 days. You just might find the right 06, 3LT that will make you happy.
I can't tell you what car to buy but I would say this: Buy the newest car you can afford, ( 07 has 5 year 50 K warranty). Buy what you really want and do not settle for less ( you will regret later) understand there are a lot of low miles pampered cars out there for reasonable money so don't get in a hurry. Good luck.
in this case the '05 is 10,000 miles less(15,000 on '05 & 25,000 on '06)
tires on '05 are the goodyears and have lots of tread left. '06 has new toyos
i have never used hud before but it def looks cool.
the '05 has no z51 but has F55. '06 has base suspension.
no navi on either car. '05 has the 6 disc premium sound. '06 has single disc not premium.
Definitely the 05 . . . there have been tons of threads from those of us that are more than satisfied `05 owners . . .don't be scared off my overblown non-issues.
Fewer miles .. . more options= more fun . . just make sure you do your homework on the car's history with a VIS check and solid inspection by someone knowledgeable. If it's a dealer, see if you can factor an extended warranty into the deal!

COMPLETELY AGREE with the post. Sometimes the posters out here forget we don't all aspire to have the fastest 1.02g pimped out vette. We just want a really nice car as it came out of the factory and options can be more important than the performance differential between the two (I would suspect that the majority of people who drove the two cars would see NO difference in performance)
One more issue to consider. The GMPP warranty is definitely not
available on the '05, but might be available on the '06, depending
on the month it was delivered. Don't know it that is an issue
(for you), but I feel much safer with the GMPP I have on my '06.
If the above does not matter to you, I would get the loaded '05.
My son talked me into a 3LT and I have been very pleased.
Half the miles is a good thing. Be sure to check out either car
and look at the GM VIS report on both.
