Default Blank Navigation Screen

After I start the car the radio/navigation screen is blank for about 2 or 3 minutes. I can hear the radio but nothing is on the screen. Is this normal? 09 C6 Coupe

No. You should have one of 3 screens - nav/srce or the C6 logo. Even if you turn the screen off then it wouldn't come back up on its own.

What screen comes up when it finally gets around to it? If the radio is playing and the screen is blank my initial thought is that is initializing the nav and having trouble. Check the DVD.

The C6 logo will come on after the delay.

mine has logo on for about 10 - 12 sec, but not blank. My screen did go blank and unit was replaced under warranty. If they won't replace now, have the dealer document that you did have this problem, just in case.

Sign of things to come for unit

That would be consistent with a nav initialization problem. Something is definitely wrong. The logo should come up in a second or 2 after you push the start button and the nav screen should come up a few seconds later.

I have the same problem on my 09 Z06....occasionally, the nav screen will not display anything until the car is shut off...it will actually come back on right after the car is shut off and goes into retained accessory power mode. The radio will work and the screen actually works, too (i.e. when you touch the screen, if you hit a button where it should be, it still works), while it's not displaying anything.

Didn't have this prob with my 05 nav. Curiously, it seems to be more frequent when the weather is cold.

Disconnect the battery, wait maybe 30 seconds and reconnect. This will force a reboot of the nav. You might need to re-do your memory options, window indexing and so on.

...happened to our 2007 model twice. After shutting down the car and restarting (Microsoft fix), the display returned to normal.

I had the same problem with with the Nav system on my Escalade.

Gave me more trouble in the winter because the map disc was cold.

Have you tried ejecting the disc and reinserting? Or, could you borrow a friend's disc to see if it gives you the same trouble?
