This may be a stupid question, but I'm a newbee to the Forum, but not to Vettes. Anyway, with the Nav system. If I switch out the Nav DVD and slide in a movie dvd, what can or will happen? I haven't had the ***** to do it, but have been tempted.

Data on a DVD is much more dense than a regular CD. Putting one in your stock head unit will force the higher density data down the OEM wiring made for the low-density data, and the wiring will form nearly-invisible micro-fractures in its insulation, thus spilling the excess electrons all over the backside of your dash. All these extra electrons not only add weight causing a sluggish feel in the way the C6 drives (requiring the addition of 'mods' to overcome the effect), but also can cause the well-documented "Van der Graaf" effect on the car's passenger, causing her hair to stand up during spirited drives.
At least that's what I tell her...
