Default paint code

Hi from the U.K.

Managed to catch my drivers door mirror and it's scratched it badly. Do any of you gents know where I can find the colour code for the car.

It's a C6 06 I believe it's daytona orange.

Bodyshop won't touch it without the exact code.

2006 C6 Sunset Orange Metallic......WA633H.......I got this number off of a paint company's touch up list. I think the number on your parts sticker in your glove box should be.......71U

It should also be on a sticker inside the glovebox with all of your option codes.....

Look in your glove department.

Paint Codes Locations For Chevrolet
The paint code for all Chevy cars and trucks are located on the service parts identification sticker. While the sticker is moved around from year to year, it still looks like the ones below. Most labels are white paper sticker, while more moderns ones are a silver label. While most paint codes in our database start out with a "WA", most cars and trucks will start out with a "BC/CC U". BC/CC stands for basecoat/clearcoat, and the U stands for upper or body color.

Arctic White
10U
Le Mans Blue
19U
Black
41U
Velocity Yellow
45U
Machine Silver
67U
Daytona Sunset Orange
71U
Victory Red
74U
Monterey Red
80U

A perfect match isn't needed, the mirrors and painted removable top aren't painted with the rest of the car, they are painted by the supplier.

If the paint shop doesn't know it's the last few digit's on the glove box door sticker, it's time to go elsewhere. As mentioned in earlier responses, the seperate piece R/R mirror really doesn't need to be a good match. I'd search out a repair shop having a computer scan paint matching system anyway, to keep it perfect. Pretty sure you U.K. guy's have a few of these shop's around. Not to common in the U.S. either, but worth seeking out.

I guess you should be able to order touch-up paint from the nearest GM dealer , if not you could always order online. Good Luck

I like the idea of this being a 'club' rather than a forum!

You can get the entire GM product line compatibility chart for 2009 here (PDF, 781KB). Just search for Corvette after you open the document.
