The issue I am having is that the door opening buttons, dash lights, remote controls, starter switch, radio, and DIC are not working....but, the headlights and the horn do work.
My car has been in the shop for about 5 days having a roll bar installed. The battery has been disconnected for most of that time. The shop said that the battery was disconnected during all welding.
They charged the battery for about an hour....and it was showing 12 voltes....but the items noted don't work.
Is this normal when the battery is disconnected for so long....or do you think they fryed something when the MIG welded to the frame?
When they say the battery was disconnected, which post was disconnected or were both posts disconnected? If they only disconnected the ground post, something might have been fried.
I would bet that the battery is low, or a connection is loose at the battery. When the battery gets low, ANYTHING crazy can happen electrically....this is known on C6s. Charge it and disconnect it for a short time to reboot the car.
Maybe try reseating the connectors on the BCM..I just found this in my corvette folder on my computer..I know I got it off the forum, but do not remember when..The date on the file is Nov 20, 2007 and it is titled 2008 BCM Reseat...
Bowling Green is requesting as much data as possible when encountering a warranty claim requiring the replacement of a BCM. Should repair diagnosis lead the technician to replacing BCM, Bowling Green is requesting the technician contact NAME HIDDEN at (XXX) XXX-XXXX. The majority of the warranty parts returned to date do not malfunction when installed into a surrogate vehicle. Engineering needs to better understand the conditions present which implicate these components. When diagnosing a BCM, start by disconnecting all the inputs to the component, let set for a minute, and then reconnect. Repeat process two more times to wipe away any fretting corrosion on the electrical contacts. Finally check to see if the compliant has gone away.
