Default Tire Combo mixture..

Is anyone running this combination of tires?

245/40/18 front Toyo T1

295/30/19 rear. Toyo R888

or any other brand of tire but different sizes as above.
If so do you have any problems with this mixture?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what size to run up front?

Thanks...

unless you are going to the drag strip to run the 1/4... and want drag radials on the rear, why would you want to mix a companies brand designations on the front and rear?....

Thats not a very good thing to do, my friend. Even worse would be to mix manufactures brands....

A brand designation (model of a tire) is constructed/engineered to compliment traction, handling, and braking dynamics on the particular vehicle that runs that size designation.

By mixing the "models"...you risk conditions such as oversteer/understeer, premature loss of wet traction in either the front or rear, throwing the traction control system off.... loss of cornering stability from either the front or rear due to tread surface rollover protection that may be slightly inferior in one of the models.... loss of grip in tight maneuvers due to the design of the tread blocks which reduce/or increase tread flexing....

Can it be done? yes.....but not by the average enthusiast.. profession automotive racing engineers and profession drivers who have different styles and need a "tailoring" sitiuation with their front/rear tires experiment with different combos until they come up with the right one.

Personally, I would stick with the same brand designation on all four corners for the best overall performance from the car.

Thanks for your input and suggestion.

So the best would be go with Toyo R888 front and rear even though the fronts are Toyo but not R888s?

yes, put the R888's all the way around. just remember, these are not great wet weather tires... the lack of traction grooves and sipes will make them hydroplane much faster... use caution. you dry traction will be very good....cornering especially.
