My friend was offered $28k trade in value on his 2009 C6 at a local Chev dealer. He walked, of course, but, man, that's low.
It sounds like either the salesman didn't want the car or he/she just figured your bud would take whatever they offered to trade-in. I'd just try a couple other dealers.

I know in Orlando a place called ***'s Chevy was recently selling used 2009 LT1's for $28K and that was asking price so you may have been able to get it for even less.. The economy sucks....
. . . . and dealers are desperately wanting to buy used cars due to the lack of inventory from the "cash for clunkers" success. Ha! Well at least our vettes aren't considered to be "clunkers".
