My 2006 Coup was six months old when it finally had 1000 miles on it. Sooo, I headed down to the dealer for a free oil change. On the way a stone hit my windshield and didn't crack it, but scuffed it. Right in my line of sight. After spending I don't know how much to remove the scuff, short of replacing the glass I decided to just leave it alone. So after three and a half years I don't see it anymore. It's still there but my eyes are used to just seeing past it. The car is pristine with only 5200 miles on it. Soooo TODAY here in NC it was just beautiful and I thought what a great day for a ride to the beach. See where I'm going here? I no sooner get on RT 40 east and OUT OF NO WHERE, BANG. The closest car was about 200 yards ahead of me. A stone hits my windshield litterally 1/4 inch to the right of the old scuff. No crack, just another scuff mark that will never come out. I turned around and went home. Why Me.
I know how you feel. But after the first mark, ding or whatever, I just dirve my cars and don't worry about it. Remember no one is driving a "NEW CAR". I say use it, enjoy it and when you use it all up, get a new one.
I have a 78 Pace car with 11,000 miles on it. I like knowing it"s there, but no one sees it. I seldom drive it, so really, what good is it? It's just a thing. I'm thinking of selling it to someone who will drive it and enjoy it.
Know how you feel, bought a 2001 Silverado Z71 with 50 miles on it, had it a week and hit a sign in the middle of the road on a super foggy day. My 2009 Z71, was pulling a stake out of the ground with it, my 10k lbs cargo strap yanked it out like a rubber band the stake flew over the hood, over the cab and hit the right rear door top (crew cab) 1 inch dent, no paint removal. I have to point it out to people, but I know it's there. Makes me feel like the whole thing is junk now.
You will find out here... it is NOT just you... The Corvette is low, and the windshield loves rocks... Got Mine... GM windshield installed $1200 cost me the $500 Comp Deductable... just part of life.
I hate that too. In Florida, on I75, I have had 4 windshields damaged. Many time, you don't even know where the rock comes from. Worst of all, I was in my S2000 a couple of years ago and a piece of metal came off a scrap truck, hit my windshield and almost took my head off as it passed over the open top.
Here, by law, there is no deductible for windshields, but the insurance companies don't like multiple windshield claims. Some chips can be fixed and are nearly invisible.
Your car might have thrown the stone at itself. One time, when out nowhere a stone hit my car windshield. There out in the open with no car, no people, nothing. I determined that there must have been a stone in the tire tread that let go, bounced on the road, and hit my windshield. Or it came from space. I now check my tires between trips and remove any stone that I might find. If you think it came from space, that windshield can be acquired for just $100,000.
You might try calling/emailing the guys at autogeek a picture to see if this would help.
It sucks getting any damage to your Corvette. The one good chip in my window is right at eye level, just inline with my right eye. It bugs me every time I'm in the car and it's sunny out!
If it bothers you so much why don't you just replace the windshield?
Contact one of those places that repairs windshields. They use some type of epoxy(?) that fills the crack. It has the same index of refraction as the glass so the crack disappears. You never see it, never know it is there.
I know it sucks to have damage of any sort to your Corvette, but that is no reason to not enjoy it by driving it.
In Florida, a broken windshield is replaced free and NO deductible.
Perk for peeps in the Sunshine State.

The first scuff was when I lived in FL full time. I know about that Insurance perk down there . It just seemed like a real hassel to change out for a little scuff. I have to check my Ins in NC. I don't think so.

Been down that road. If it was a crack it could be fixed. It's a SCUFF mark from the stone. Can't be filled in.

I have a guarantied solution for your problem,... get a projection screen with a road movie, put your car up in stands, crank the engine and pretend your driving, I bet that would never happen again.
I also have two scuffs on my windshield from roadway stones 2008 Z06 with 4500 miles on it . I even try to keep a good distance between the car in front of me. I went to a glass repair shop and was told both were to small to try to fill. It pisses you off but you can't beat yourself up over it . I would only replace the windshield if it cracks. Whats not to say you replace the windshield and as your leaving the repair shop that stone comes out of no where and scuffs your windshield again. It happens just enjoy the car. Just think at least your driving a corvette and enjoying life. You only live once enjoy the car and don't let the small stuff bring you down.

Actually, I was going to recommend keeping it in the garage at all times. But, based on many posts on this forum, bad things can happen in the garage.
To the OP, you can't win. Just sell it. The next owner will know how to enjoy it.
