did you really just compare a ferrari to a corvette?
There is one born every day. What a total......
Maybe the funniest line this year on the forum. I have purposely waited until after I returned my 2009 ZO6 to post so as NOT to be talked out of it on this forum. :
This is a classic example of why GM made a mistake with this return policy. Now some one is going to end up with a abused Vette with 1400 miles on it.

GM did not introduce this program so people can "try out " and compare their cars to more expensive exotics. They should end it now, or certainly not have it for a car like the Corvette. Maybe a Malibu or a Yukon.

A good used 99 360 is similar in price to a new (dealer discounted) 3LZ. I know they're meant to compete in the broad scheme of things, but there's no way the Chevy is going to compare in cachet, finesse, fit and finish, sound and materials to a largely hand-built $160k+ Italian exotic. The Chevy can be driven daily with little in the way of maintenance outside of oil changes - not so much with the FCar, although some people actually manage to do it.
I don't know what you were expecting, CV. You should have known all that the second you sat in the Z. LOL.
Of coarse I knew all that. I was just looking to add a ZO6 "Vette Wise" to fit a niche. I made a mistake in the Z. Probably should have gone ZR1. The 430 is low maint. I use it alot. They built tons of them. The 360 is one of only 264 built it 2004. That doesn't get used at all.
I'm not going to jump on the band wagon and trash you for your choices/opinions. However, I think you set yourself up for disappointment if you decided you were only going to be satisfied with the Z06 if it measured up to the Ferrari.
It's just not a fair comparison and like someone else said it's like comparing a Camaro or Mustang to the C6. They are in two different leagues and price points. Consequently, I don't think you would be satisfied with a ZR1 either.
Don't buy the ZR1. For the shortcomings you mentioned on the Z06, the ZR1 pretty much is the same. The F430 is an extremely nice car but its "quaility" shouldn't be compared to a Corvette. You might as well compare the F430 to a Veyron, KSeg or Zonda F. For the money you'll pay for those cars it will be easy to find the flaws of the F430 also.

Twenty one days and 1400 miles??? Sure took a lot of miles to decide it was such a pos. Something smells here besides the imports. I don't think I would have posted this one for all to read.
While the comp is a little scewed because of the $$$ difference, you still have your C6 Velocity Yellow though. Nice choice! I will ask though . . . what's low maintenance?
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
