I just returned from deployment, was so glad to get back in the...she drives great everything is fine, but the HUD...I noticed the display bouncing then I hit a bump and it dropped completely, display is clear though...guess the mount for the projector came loose or something...guess it's a visit to the dealership, or is it something that someone with average mechanical skills can fix?

If your car is still under warranty, let a GM dealer repair it. If not, it's something a person with average mechanical skills can tackle. Might be a post on the Forum with photos of how to get at it.
Thanks for your service.

Dealer had to replace my HUD and had to come at it from under the dash to get access. I believe they removed the NAV, HVAC control, gauge cluster, etc. to get there. If you are under warranty, I'd let the dealer handle it. There are some threads on here where members have added HUD to non-HUD cars so if you are out of warranty you may want to take a look at those.
