When you say "stock" do you mean that your original bars were Z51 already or base bars? If they are the base bars, they will be a tough sell as they are not an upgrade for anyone, and probably not worth the shipping costs alone....

I'd say free. I don't think there is any market for base sway bars.

Default Sway Bar replacement

I just bought a 2008 Conv. After dealer inspection, they told me the sway bars were loose, leaking and needed replacement. Cost about $300.00. Any thoughts, if replaced should I upgrade to Z51 sway bars also? I am guessing the current ones are the basic. The car had 51K miles, but price was right.

You will feel an amazing difference. I lost the specs for the standard bars vs the Z51 bars but the z51 bars are much bigger. I installed the Z51 bars with phaft bushings on my standard C6. It was one of the best and cheapest mods I have done. The car will handle much better,no body roll at all.

Why not just step up a bit and put the Z06 sways on. There doesn't seem to be a big additional cost?

Without the wider tires, you will have too much roll stiffness and your car will oversteer severly --- at least that is what I was told when I was going to go with the bigger bars....

Was it a Caterpillar dealer? They don't contain fluid to leak and they don't ever need replacement.

Did they try to sell you any chrome plated muffler bearings with that raw deal? I hate dealership service! Check out Pfadt sways if you want even better performance.

I put the Z51 sway bars about a year ago, what a differance it made.

I couldn't even give the stock ones away.
