The quality of the paint only lasts as long as you protect it.
Two coats of Rejex and then compare.. Plus if a bird happens to zero in on the hood and it sits for any time you will have a stain, where with Rejex, its a simple wipe off..
Both cars look great. I am detecting some kind of filter over your lens that is softening the pictures....what kind of filter is that?
also: I didn't believe it till I tried it, but Zaino Z-2 starts to really look good after 3-5 very light coats. Sounds obsessive, and maybe it is, but it works....the shine is unlike any other.
I only polis hgmy car only a few times a year but its usually only out on nice days. Generally I will spray detail before and after each use. By doing this i rarely have to even wash my cars unless the are caught in the rain.
There are a lot of good polishes out there and imo its really just personally preference. I tried the whole Zaino package once and i honestly wasn't that impressed. Yeah its a good product but I couldn't tell a difference between that and the other professional line of products I use. Zaino is also such a long process.
I agree, quality of paint has a lot to do with it. The paint quality on the corvettes is ehhhhh at best. The clear is very soft and scratches very easily. It also has a ton of orange peel in it. My father even commented about the orange peel the other day while he had the car saying that for a corvette he would have thought the paint quality would have been a little better.
A winter project for me might be to wet sand the car and buff the car but I don't think I want to take a chance of burning though the existing clear.
