When sitting inside my 06 vette i push the button release and sometimes it will not open, I have to roll the window down and open from the outside? ALso at times the window moves up and down about a inch and then does not go all the way up about a 1/2 inch? Anyone have any ideas where to check I am no longer under warranty so any advice would help?
1. if you are in drive and havent put in park if an auto you need to press the unlock button first. Also you dont need to reach outside to open the door, there is a handle on the floor next to the seat you can pull that would be easier.
2. Sounds like you need to re index your windows, did you lose power from a dead battery? With the doors closed and accessory on, hold both window buttons up for 3 seconds, wait a few seconds and hold up again for 3 seconds. This will re index them so the window goes up the rest of the way after closing the door. David
I agree. These cars are electrical nightmares. I don't even bother pushing the regular button to exit the vehicle anymore, I just hit the release latch located on the left side of the driver seat. It makes things much easier.
I had a similar issue on my 2008. The door button would not work some of the times. Took it to the dealer. There is an electronic control module in the door for door and window control. Replaced it under warranty. Problem resolved.
Your profile doesn't tell us (and you didn't mention) whether you have an automatic or a manual tranny. If automatic, as already mentioned, tranny needs to be in PARK, or else use the unlock button first, then the door release button on the door.
I have found that sometimes if I just pulled up and stopped for example, touching the door open button, doesn't work. But, it I push the unlock first, then the door button will work. I think if your parking brake is on, then it'll open too. Mine's a manually tranny, so things might be a little different on the autos trannys
