We have sold Battery Tender's for years and installed them on just about everything (mostly bikes).
I did install one on my own C6.
A person can go through one of the interior jacks, but is not really the preferred method. On this car you have an extremely easy way of hooking up without going directly to the battery, but in reality it is directly on the battery.
I actually tried hooking directly up to the battery clamps, but you can possibly have loose clamps with the ring lugs installed on them if you are not really careful. I would not recommend going on the battery post connections.
The picture below is from another post. It shows probably the best, easiest and cleanest hookup. I would suggest this method.
The connection is covered up by the Fuse box lid. I even have the Fuse Box Cover from RPI installed on mine. You can not see the Battery Tender connection.
The optional 25 foot long Battery Tender Extension Cable will just be hooked up when you have the car in storage and can easily be routed out the front or wherever you desire.
I have mine laying in the exact same spot, though wired directly to the battery. No issue as to your preferred method. I do wonder though, if the OP and others are looking for a connection option that doesn't involve poping the hood; one where they can drive up, get out, connect the tender, and go indoors.
If a person wanted to be able to plug the Battery Tender in without raising the hood, you would just install the extension to the front grill and leave just the pigtail there so you could plug in. Tie wrap the extra cable back behind the grill.
We do the same thing on bikes. Have pigtails hidden just about everywhere depending on what type of bike it is.
