Oh, and a little profit. They don't makes these because they like you.

Now what part don't you understand?

You know what's even cheaper? Not getting one; that's what I did 4 years ago and couldn't be happier

There are a heck of a lot of others for a heck of a lot less. Like this one for $24.00. The major expense beyond something like this one is the paint as the tooling isn't any more or less.

When I bought my AO C6 I ordered the third light brake housing, door handles & plate frame. I got it from a GM dealer that gives our Corvette Club 20% off. The products look great and I try not to think about the price. I am glad GM gave me the option to buy them. I did laugh when installing the parts, especially the door handles and plate frame. Weed is cheaper by weight than the plastic parts. At least thats what I am told.

I bought a rear spoiler, stock size, to "try" my own painting job. I did all of the sanding, prep, priming, and painting. With just a bit of work and careful clear coating it looked GREAT. So I took an old plastic plate frame and did all of the above on it too. Color matched plate frame! Total for GM paint and all the other "stuff" couldn't have been much more than $20. OH, spoiler extra.
