Default Battery tender question

When hooking up a battery tender I know the red goes to positive
side of the battery, but do I put the blak on the neg. side or to a
grounded bolt? or does it matter? thanks.

I put mine on the neg side of battery and never had a problem, also mounted tender to fender next to battery with 3m tape.

Your good, don't worry unless your lights on your Tender start blinking like Christmas Tree.

Red is bringing it up to charge, green is your good to go indefinitely.

The reason a remote bolt or other ground is sometimes recommended is due to battery offgassing. If there is gas present and you hook to the negative terminal, you stand a chance of creating a spark.

Spark + hyd gas = boom.

Otherwise, as noted above, it doesn't matter.

don't worry about connecting BT incorrectly, if you do the red light will flash. just hook up red to pos. and black to neg, plug it in and leave it alone...oh yea be careful not to trip over the wire in the dark, and never, ever, drive off with the BT plugged in.....

And check your battery tender once in a while. Some BTs do not automatically re-start after a power outage (even a brief one).
