Default Back Up Sensor Kits

I would like to install a back up sensor to help me park etc. Any suggestions on a good kit to implement this feature?

There are a few out there that you can get. Depending on what type of setup you want and funds that are available.

I had mine installed by the dealership when I got mine. It's only beeps as you approach an object. It is the kind that you find on most vehicles with the back up sensors. They were painted to color match.

I like this feature on my other cars but i personally wouldn't drill holes in my vette. JMHO.

It would be nice if they came with them on the front as well.

I'd like them up front more then in the back. Those god damned parking lot stops make me always park with my *** sticking out...I've taken to having my passenger get out first (if I have one!) to tell me how much further in I can go without hitting the bumper. And yes, I do know where the front of the car is; it's just those damned things are different heights, not always in the same position....front sensors would be great!!!

Amen. After installing my ACI front spoiler I banged a few parking blocks.

I am currently refinishing the scrapes and nicks and molding in a small wireless backup camera that transmits to a small color monitor that I will carry in the console and use when parking straight in where parking blocks are used.

Should also also give an interesting perspective when driving for the passenger enjoyment.

The following product would be nice if it works. I have not tried this, but if I want to install sensors FOR BOTH FRONT AND BACK I would install something like this so I do not have to drill holes in the bumpers. Wally world has it for around $30. Also $26 at your favorite online book store

There are 2 types of popular parking sensors sold on market. One is ultra sonic and the other one is electro magnetic. The ultra sonic ones work more accurate, but need plain view of the object closing, i.e. drill holes in the bumper. The electro magnetic version also works great 'most' of the time and does not need holes. The sensor is like a long strip of tape.

Why not install front and rear camera's instead of sensors? It would be easier and can be installed/removed without any damage to the car.

Then you would need to be looking at the display screen instead of where you are going. May not be as effective as the audible senors that allows you to look where you are going which may be safer.

My son bought me one of those $40 kits from wally world. Installed it with not cutting/drilling. Works great. It's hooked up to the reverse lights so it's only active when they are on.
