I believe that the days we are living in today, is like 1970. The heyday of the muscle car era is coming to an end.

Many reasons why, but the main ones are:
*Gas Prices Will Continue to Increase
*Inflation Is Coming
*Obama Environmental Restrictions
*The Green Movement/EPA
*Stricter MPG on new cars
*Failing economy

I wouldn't be surprised to see the next generation of Corvette come with LESS HP than the current 430HP of the C6.

A C7 with a V6 making 310HP is very likely.

Remember 1975? The Corvette came with TWO engine options:
A. 165HP
B. 205HP

Either choice was a bad choice.

Compared to 1969 which had either a 400HP or a 435HP option.

The C6 will probably be THE LAST high-HP Corvette ever produced. At least the last of the V8's. Maybe a turbo V6 is in the future for the C7???

A V6 with 310HP will work just fine for a C7 as long as the GM engineers can get the weight down to that of a Lotus

Turbo V6s won't get any better milage than a LS3, and therefore GM isn't going to go there with the Corvette. Just wait and see... they will stick with V8 engines until they ultimately go electric sometime down the road.

Totally

Turbo motors are not efficient at high throttle openings and the hardware adds 100lb right there. The future is the super-light and efficient LS engine architecture with DI and some form of VVT or vario-cam technology. Maybe even electronic valves. Then hybrid / electric / regen.
