Broken Console Latch
Crap.... just popped open the console, and the latch/hook portion fell off.....
I will start searching, but I wonder if I need to replace the whole console lid?
If so, I will machine a replacement out of aluminum and put that in......

Mine broke a year ago. The dealer has it queued up for a warranty repair. Been at least 6 months now and the part is still not in stock. Maybe Gene Culley can get one:

No, you can replace just the broken plastic latch, but be prepared to get ripped over $25 for that ten cent piece of junk, and that's with a discount. Be sure to order the correct color, also.
The problem is that GM knows that they are commonly defective and keeps selling them. If you buy one of their optional GM leather lids, it will come with the same plastic piece and that one will break, too.
Oh, and don't lose any of the screws when you take the lid apart. They are about $5 apiece.
