Default npp 2007 2008 ?

I have a 2008 coupe with npp and mild to wild, and a 2007 vert that i just had the same system put on.The 2008 is louder and a deeper growl. Could the reason be the differance in engine size or what?

Where did the NPP mufflers you put on the 07 come from. If they were used and from a Z06, they are different and many say they are a bit more quiet than those on the standard C6.

Now I might be wrong, but I believe the x-pipe and cats are also different on the 07's and earlier. These items were changed when the 08 LS3 came out and that might be what is causing the sound difference.

I do know that the Z06 mufflers have a 3" inlet and the stock C6 muffler (and NPP) inlet is 2 1/2". So, if the new mufflers bolted right up to your pipes, then you got the correct ones.

Hey there bops90 ---
We'll have to compare sometime. I put the NPPs on my 05 and it is much louder (valves closed) than my friend's 08 with valves closed.
Ever get over to Champaign??? How about the RR museum in Monticello?

The C6 Z06 muffler inlet is 2.5", same as the C6. The Z06 has 3" pipe up to the muffler inlet but the pipe is reduced to 2.5" at the muffler.

So, you didn't compare them with the valves open?

Just look at the tips themselves..Z06 mufflers do not have perforations in the tips..NPP mufflers do..
The 08 has a true Xpipe on it from the factory.

Default ah,,

BOTH the Z06 and C6 NPP have 3 1/2" Chrome Tips... a bunch of people here keep saying the Z06 is bigger, not true... The Non-NPP is smaller...
You can tell the Z06 Muffler, by looking INSIDE the Chrome tips, if it is smooth, it is Z06, if it is punched with a bunch of small holes, it is NPP. Night & Day for sound difference.
