Default CR vs AO

I'm having a hard time deciding on Crystal Red or Atomic Orange, while black is still a frontrunner too. I've seen how the AO just explodes in the sun, lots of gold like a sunrise, really nice. Seems to light up from the inside. What I'm wondering is if the CR does the same thing? How close is CR to the RJT on the Camaro? I was able to see RJT on a malibu at my local dealer and close-up it was very impressive. I haven't been able to see CR in person yet. So my question is, does the CR really burst out in the sun like the AO does? thanks

CR is a really pretty color but it doesn't POP like AO does in the sun....IMHO.

Default great pic!

Wow, looks like it's on fire! perfect angle, camera and sun. I suppose it's a basic function of the colors involved. Does the CR have much yellow in it, or what color does it hilight? I'd like to see a close-up of a sunny hilite of the CR. A lot of the metallics don't really show up unless you're up close and I'd like to see just how the CR does. Personally, I think they should put something in the black, something subtle and metallic. Anyway, just thinking...

Of the two, I prefer AO. But there is no bad color for the Vette.

Color is always a difficult choice for me. Both that you are considering are terrific colors that compliment the lines of the vette. Between the two of CR and AO, you will find that AO is much lower production and more unique.

ok, thanks for nothing guys Here's my thoughts... CRM is a beautiful color, especially the closer you get. AO catches your eye from any distance if you catch it blinking in the sun, turning a corner etc. Both seem to take on different characteristics depending on how sunny it is, and down here in SA we get LOTS How can I be considering black and AO both, opposite ends of the spectrum, but both gorgeous. I know the difficulties with black and swirling etc, but when it's clean, like a mirror! I'm picturing this beast in my garage. Would I get 'used to' the AO? Would black seem too sedate after a few months? Would CRM have been the best compromise? At some point I'm going to have to decide and I really don't want this to hang me up. I would get noticed more in an AO imo. Do I want that? I currently drive a very 'lose yourself in the crowd' GMC Sierra (like everyone else here in SA it seems drives a pickup), and I'm just another anon face on the road. I have a feeling driving an AO C6 will change that, and I don't want to stand out TOO much, if you know what I mean. CRM would have the same effect, maybe 2% less, face it any color will draw attention. I'm thinking about this too much...

LOL, on that we agree. Color is so subjective. Go with what your gut tells you. And, imo, Vettes stand out because they are Vettes not because of whatever color they happen to be. I really haven't seen a Vette I don't like, I just prefer some colors over others.

I love my CRM. First saw the color in August '07 at the assembly plant. I knew then it would be the color on my next Corvette.

How about Cyber Grey?????? That would now be my 2nd choice (I think)......

Just messing with you...I think keep all colors you like in mind and when you see the one that is for you---YOU WILL KNOW IT!!!! I looked for months in 4 different states and when I saw what is now my 08 4LT CRM I bought it that day....and I was looking to buy Orange, Yellow, or Jet Stream Blue and wasn't even considering CRM....

A friend of mine has a CGM Camaro or which he's very proud. Being ummm, not so young anymore, the CGM is a very sophisticated color and looks great. I'm still up in the air regarding whether to buy/lease a new one (in which case CGM is an option) or find a used 08. I wanted something with a little more pop. It will be a dd and I'm just not so sure black is a good choice, especially here in SA, it gets HOT, altho it would rarely be parked in the sun. I think you're right about 'when I see it, I'll know', but I've seen a few already I do have the luxury to keep looking and that's fun too, I guess...

Of course if you decide to go with a new 2010, that eliminates AO. As for black "looking like a mirror when it's clean", not necessarily. It only looks that way if it's clean AND completely without swirls and spiderwebs, a condition that very few are able to sustain.

Regarding Cyber Gray, if you haven't yet seen in in direct sun you need to check it out. It actually has blue flakes in it - it's stunning.

Didn't realize AO wasn't an option for 2010. I'm afraid, seeing as how I intend it being a dd, black might not be a wise decision. I realize clean is clean no matter the color, but black just seems to require a little more maint. And I suppose the swirling and spiderwebs are there with any color, just shows up more with black. Mine will never see a car wash and I plan on investing in some Zaino.
I have seen the CGM close up, and I saw at least 2 colors of blue, and some shades of green also. Very nice. But then I went outside and wiped a spot clean on my 07 Sierra (some light grey color) and I saw all those colors there also. From a distance it just looks...grey So, I guess I've narrowed it down to CRM or AO, assuming I don't get a 2010
