competative driving mode..........
Holy Moly Batman!!!!!!!!!!!!
some of you might remember, a few weeks ago, my post about a female deputy im doing personal training for down south of me... she wanted a ride in the vette, never been in one.. so took her and did a merge on the interstate to redline....but...LOL.. i did not know she was a deputy sheriff at the time.. she had been the Animal Control Officer... LOL.. she loved it though... we reached a nice speed of ____________.
anyway..trained her again today.. she asked for another ride..but this time showed me this abandoned back wide country road... straight as an arrow.. no residences for folks to pull of ..nothing...
I put the car in CDM... took it through 3rd......... im impressed!!! omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! she screamed with delight!!!!!!! i thought we were launching for the sky when I hit second!!!!!!!! LOL~~~
What a car for the buck..........nothing like it... and ive had quite a few since my first new on in 1967
I have not put my car in CDM yet but it seems like it has more power with the TC off. Are you saying that it is alot stronger in CDM.
I am going to try that.

LOL.. ive not done it with the TC off.. but tell you what.. she sure launched when i hit second and rubber was burning..but control was there!
I always run COMP MODE but I dont see a dif between Comp and tract off... its the same thing to me active handling is still on with both I believe * or so on mine * so to me its the same... I kinda enjoy traction off active handling off on a sunny 75*F day in Hill country Tx
CDM lets the rear slide out a good ways before it attempts to reign in boneheaded maneuvers. traction control off only (not CDM) lets you burn out, but still has the lower threshold before it cuts power or individually brakes each wheel in an attempt to bring you out of oversteer.
CDM was great for the one day I had the chance to ring it out at Spring Mtn, but for the street, I'm happy to use the regular threshold that cuts in sooner.
CDM won't make your car any faster, it just dials back the electronic nannies. It could possibly make a difference in that it won't cut your throttle if the car gets squirrely. But that does not sound like your driving situation in this instance.
I suspect you had some cooler (and possibly drier) ambient temps than you have had lately. That WILL make a difference.

Great information and well put. Easy to understand. Should be a sticky?

actualy, yesterday it was in the mid 70's here, and yes, dry. Thats what made it so nice. top was off too! it makes it seem faster because of the wheel spin and butt waggin at shift points.. LOL
What exactly is the difference between pushing the button once to turn off traction control, or pushing the button twice to put it in CDM? Aren't they the same thing (i.e. traction control off/active handling on)?
