I have tried the short program to program the 08+ key fob to my 07.
I roll down the drivers side window
Open the glove box
Set a key fob next to the shifter
Open the trunk
Take the other fob and turn the lock five times
I do not get anything on the DIC though. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I think the biggest problem most people have is that they are hurrying the five key turns and not completely turning the key each time. 5 times in five seconds is not that fast...take your time and make sure the key is going the full 90 degrees of turn. I have done programming on 2 extra fobs in less than 2 minutes using this procedure.
For the short procedure, make sure that a fob is sitting on the console in the car. Take the metal key off of it in order to turn the lock in the trunk. If the car does not see a working fob in the car when the key is turned, it will enter the long procedure and erase all fobs because it expects to re-program all of them anew. Keep turning the key solidly and deliberately and keep going after five turns while keeping an eye on the DIC. The five turns do not have to be the FIRST five, just any five within about 5 seconds of eachother.
I would leave one fob on the console and put the other one out of reach of the car to avoid any possibility of confusion, although this is technically not required by the procedure, just good practice.
