Anyone replace alternator bracket or power steering pump?
Question #1:
With the alternator removed, the bracket bolts taken out, and the power steering's high pressure discharge line unattached, is there enough wiggle room to get an open wrench down there to undo the nut and remove the bracket with the power steering pump still attached?
With the ABS unit forward of the alternator bracket, there doesn't look to be enough space to disconnect the power steering unit hose from the other side, and be able to slide the power steering unit forward and out of the way. So, I'm assuming the power steering pump has to come out with the alternator bracket; and put back in with the new chrome racket.
Question #2:
If you've either added a chrome alternator bracket or had to replace the power steering pump and have any useful info, I would appreciate your comments.
It appears that the installation of my new chrome alternator bracket necessitates my removal of the lower power steering pressure hose to allow the unit to be lifted out after removing the four bolts that attach it to the engine block. The a.b.s. unit prevents it from moving forward.
I’m curious as to the amount of movement of the bracket upward and tilting forward after removing those four bolts to allow me to get a wrench on the flare nut to remove that hose then freeing the unit for removal. Access from down below for this flare nut doesn’t appear to be available.
