Got them in Friday morning and installed them in about 3 hours. Pretty easy to do once you get the FRC's off, wires and plugs out it goes pretty quick. I have seen some guys do it on jacks and cant imagine how much fun that would be. The 2 post lift and air tools makes life so much easier. Onl;y fitment issue was part of the floor sill sticking out which i just cut some of it out (last photo shows where and i painted it so its hard to tell)Be safe, paulNew Stuff Old stuff Extending O2 wires bracketed out of the way of the pipes Making sure to wire tie away from headers
old "X" pipe New "X" pipe and Cat's
Area i cut away (the pipes where banging against it on the first test drive)
Car has been tuned for them and the first noticable thing is the "Raspy" like sound on snap throttle. With the NPP closed its very similiar to stock but open is a whole different Ballgame. Very cool, NOT too loud but sounds like it should stock,,,Mean. The first couple of drives I noticed an increase in throttle response and of course a big HP gain and with the bigger headers 1-7/8 and bigger x pipe back its more of a HP gainer then other systems that use smaller sizes. And the quality is first class. I dont know much about other systems so can only speak to AMR. Pretty pricey system but it is very well made and worth it. paul
Any difference in heat inside car? I am thinking of doing this also. I am told the insulation kit is $400+. An audio clip would be nice also. What are your thoughts on the system. Is it worth the $$$ ? Thanks.
Paul I want to hear those AR with NPP opened up, I put AR on my C5 when they first came out in 1 7/8 on my boosted Vette and they are nicely made and I did pick up a few extra HP over my 1 3/4 headers

I noticed less heat on longer drives after my AR headers were installed.
I wonder, has anyone weighed the stock parts that are taken off versus the headers, etc installed. I would guess there is a nice weight savings to go along with the new found power!

I did add the thermal abs, but believe most of the heat reduction was getting the cats out from the footwell area..
Plus the car lost at least 20 lbs..And got rid of that ugly welded stock x-pipe..

ithink your right on point there. The oem x pipe i think i will cut mine open to see how open it is inside. I can weld way better then those and I am a big time novice welder. The oem cats get really hot obviously and the AR ones are farther back have less restriction which would give off less heat as well. I dont know the weight savings but it is some maybe 15-30lb range.
