Easiest way to minimize the water dropping into the interior, on the seats etc. is to just wipe (towel or paper towels work well) the top area of the windows before you open the doors. With the door ajar just a little, wipe the curved area or the rood and just under the roof line. I go through this routine after I wash the car. You might not get it all but it will help. It's an extra step but it's one way to avoid a mess.
