I've got a 2005 Vert and the lid on my driver's side visors just came off completely. There are just 2 hinges, as most of you know, and they've broken off. I don't even use the dang thing, but it is up as I keep my top down most of the time. One of the hinges on my passenger side is broken too! Anyways, this looks like a dealer-fix-only type of issue as there are electrical concerns to the mirrors. Am I right? Or is there a user-friendly fix for this? It looks like crap to drive it with the top downand no cover and as long as the cover is off, the lights stay on while driving too. Any thoughts?
I had the same thing happen to my drivers side visor. A replacement is extremly expensive for a feature that the only thing I use is the garage door buttons.
It is not to difficult to remove the visor yourself. I removed the lights so they would not stay on and velcroed the cover back on. It does not even look broken any longer. I figure that I will keep my eye out for a used one for now.
