Rejex ?????
I've heard to use dawn soap to strip off any old wax and residue thats on the car, but what's you take on doing a clay bar treatment on it first ?
Now if doing the clay bar, is it better to do when you're soaping up the car or after its all washed and dried, use the detail spray with the clay bar as directed
? So as far as any other treatment should there be any, or go straight to the Rejex.
I don't mean to sound brain dead
with these questions, but I've heard quite a few people say, " The car has to be perfectly clean before you use the wax." Is that true ?Thanks for the input'
1- wash using blue Dawn
2- dry car
3- clay bar using detail spray
4- rewash car using a milder soap
5- dry car
6- polish car using 3m perfect-it ( this stuff is amazing)
7- remove polish
8- apply rejex
9- let rejex dry on the car for about an hour or so
10- remove rejex and let car sit overnight.
11- next day, drive car around and enjoy the looks I get ( it tells me that I did a good job), especially when people ask me if I had my car custom painted.
Rejex must cure over night to work the best and I like my results, I do it on a day I will drive something else like my C5 and let the Rejex cure

It will seal in anything that's under it.
It works great on chrome wheels and glass too.
Definitely worth the effort. But you absolutely have to let it set up overnight and warm, dry conditions will help.

Wash it good... no Dawn.
Dry it.
Rejex it.
Buff it.
Let it set overnight and you're good to go. Dark cars need all that habub. Yours does not.

Please, leave your Dawn in the kitchen.
It's OK for infrequent use, but it is not good for your "rubber" seals.
There are less destructive ways to remove old wax or sealant.
Clay if your finish needs it. After washing and drying, do the plastic bag test. If you don't feel roughness through the plastic bag (or sheet of plastic wrap), you don't need to clay. It's as simple as that.
90% of the shine comes from how well you have prepared your painted surfaces before you apply the last step product (sealant or wax). If your paint doesn't look great before applying the last step product, it will add some surface shine, but you paint isn't going to POP. There are some great polishes on the market. I've been pleased with some from Meguiars and Menzerna, but you'll need at least a random orbit polisher and some good pads to bring you finish to the next level.
Rejex is a very good product. Use it as directed, apply it very thinly, and keep it off the plastic. If you do this you'll be very happy with it.
Used it on the AW finish, glass, transparent top and wheels.
I have put 700 miles on the Vette -- mostly in the rain.
After a quick rinse off after the daily run and the leaf blower dry down the Vette looks fabulous !!!
