Default Rejex ?????

Well just got some Rejex, and going to be doing the car soon, but wanted to get some opinions.

I've heard to use dawn soap to strip off any old wax and residue thats on the car, but what's you take on doing a clay bar treatment on it first ?

Now if doing the clay bar, is it better to do when you're soaping up the car or after its all washed and dried, use the detail spray with the clay bar as directed ?

So as far as any other treatment should there be any, or go straight to the Rejex.

I don't mean to sound brain dead with these questions, but I've heard quite a few people say, " The car has to be perfectly clean before you use the wax." Is that true ?

Thanks for the input'

My steps were:
1- wash using blue Dawn
2- dry car
3- clay bar using detail spray
4- rewash car using a milder soap
5- dry car
6- polish car using 3m perfect-it ( this stuff is amazing)
7- remove polish
8- apply rejex
9- let rejex dry on the car for about an hour or so
10- remove rejex and let car sit overnight.
11- next day, drive car around and enjoy the looks I get ( it tells me that I did a good job), especially when people ask me if I had my car custom painted.

rejex is great, but it's just a sealant! Use dawn, clay bar, then use a good scrath remover or polisher! Then Rejex it! rejex sucks unless you let it sit for 24 hrs before you drive the car are allow it to get wet! if you rejex the car and let it sit in the garage for a day or too, then rejex is GREAT! Don't get me wrong, but rejext is the best thing i have ever used, as long as you let it cure! I have used Zaino, and about everything you can think of, but rejex leaves the best protection on your car, as long as you let it cure!

Rejex must cure over night to work the best and I like my results, I do it on a day I will drive something else like my C5 and let the Rejex cure

Yes-

It will seal in anything that's under it.

It works great on chrome wheels and glass too.

Definitely worth the effort. But you absolutely have to let it set up overnight and warm, dry conditions will help.

I used Rejex for a while but I always had to finish with Mothers Top Coat to get the real glossy look. The final result looked fantastic but unfortunately the Top Coat defeated the slick finish of Rejex. I ordered Zaino just to check the hype.

I bought my bottle at a local auto paint supply store, but I know I've seen it around at other places too. I believe I bought just the stage 3 bottle for light scratches and swirls. It's very easy to work with and the paint looks so good after you get done and it's an extremely smooth surface.

Listen to me and save yourself a TON of time. Your car is light colored.

Wash it good... no Dawn.

Dry it.

Rejex it.

Buff it.

Let it set overnight and you're good to go. Dark cars need all that habub. Yours does not.

CORRECTION
1-wash car
2-clay bar using zaino clay bar
3-rewash car
4-apply zaino Z2
5-remove zaino Z2
6-reapply zaino Z2
7-remove 2nd coat of zaino Z2
8-go in house and change into a dry shirt
9-apply zaino Z5
10-remove zaino Z5
11-reapply zaino Z5
12-remove second coat of zaino Z5
13-go back into house and change into a dry shirt and underwear
14-while in the house, hook yourself up to an I-V and begin to rehydrate yourself.
15-drag a$$ back into garage for yet two more coats of Zaino show polish.
16-spend some time wondering why you torture your self the way you do
17-notice that the car looks good but you are too tired and soar to even grin.
18- beg the wife to grab the tylenol from the top shelf for you because you can no longer stand up straight.
19- shower and go directly to bed.
20- next morning you spend hours contemplating on whether you will ever drive your corvette again because you hate the thought of going through the whole zaino process again.

Pep Boys. Used it along with 3M's "Hand Glaze" when I had my 350Z. I liked it alright but when I got my vette, I've only used Rejex which cuts down the steps and is great to use.

Some random thoughts:

Please, leave your Dawn in the kitchen.
It's OK for infrequent use, but it is not good for your "rubber" seals.
There are less destructive ways to remove old wax or sealant.

Clay if your finish needs it. After washing and drying, do the plastic bag test. If you don't feel roughness through the plastic bag (or sheet of plastic wrap), you don't need to clay. It's as simple as that.

90% of the shine comes from how well you have prepared your painted surfaces before you apply the last step product (sealant or wax). If your paint doesn't look great before applying the last step product, it will add some surface shine, but you paint isn't going to POP. There are some great polishes on the market. I've been pleased with some from Meguiars and Menzerna, but you'll need at least a random orbit polisher and some good pads to bring you finish to the next level.

Rejex is a very good product. Use it as directed, apply it very thinly, and keep it off the plastic. If you do this you'll be very happy with it.

Default Rejex Time Two

I picked up my 2010 4LT from the Dealer on 11/5 and spent the weekend putting on two coats of Rejex - letting the first coat cure for 12 hours before the second coat.
Used it on the AW finish, glass, transparent top and wheels.
I have put 700 miles on the Vette -- mostly in the rain.
After a quick rinse off after the daily run and the leaf blower dry down the Vette looks fabulous !!!

I'd like to Rejex my Victory Red for the first time when we go to Florida this winter. I can do the work in shade but won't be able to garage it overnight, it will be sitting outside about 200 yds from the beach. Will this work ok or should I forget it?
