Bulb exploded in fog light housing ...
The fog light bulb pieces are still in the fog light housing. Does the fog light come apart or do I have to replace it? I'm assuming the whole fog light assembly will have to be removed no matter what. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The bulb can be replaced without replacing the whole housing but I don't know if you will be able to get all the bulb pieces removed. The easiest way to replace the bulb is to remove the wheel and then pop the tabs out of the fender liner and pull back the liner then you will be able to replace the bulb.

The Fog Housing comes out...
But, it's a PITA. Remove Wheel, remove fender liner (behind fog light), the fog light housing has 3 screws that attach to the nose. The screw are all on the bottom of the fog light housing (7mm I think).

Sorry for your problem. It would be helpful for the rest of us if you would indicate what year you have, etc. New car, used car? Filling in your profile would help.
I'm no help in finding a solution, but might help the rest of us if we have more info! Older year problem vs. newer year problem, etc...
Good luck! I'll be

It sure seems like if you could take the housing out, and remove the wire at the back --- that you could then shake out the pieces of glass etc that would be left inside. I don't think that you would then have to replace the whole housing....just a thought.....I wonder how in the heck this happened in the first place though....

I removed the fog light housing and it looks like it's time for a new one. There are pieces everywhere in there and you can even see the burn spot when the bulb exploded on the upper part of the housing. I really don't see anyway to get the pieces out. The reflector even has a smoked look to it. There is condensation on the inside of the lens and there was even water in the connector when I removed the bulb.
It must have happened when I hit a huge puddle at a pretty good clip. I didn't see it coming, it was dark and there was no way to know how deep it was.
I guess that whole don't drive it in the rain thing is true. I guess I'll just have to put it away until the rain stops. NOT!!! It's worth the time and money to replace the fog lights. I would rather drive it and deal with the occasional repairs than see it sit in the garage.

FYI, I found the following part numbers:
Right side - 25942592
Left side - 25942593
MSRP is $121 - $126 (depending on left or right). You should be able to get one for less than $100 incl shipping from one of the forum's supporting parts suppliers.

I show $120.67 (list price) for the driving lamp housing, but before you replace, make sure that the weather pack seal on the connector to the bulb socket is good and also that the bulb socket to lamp housing seal is good. You do not want the moisture problem to reoccur, under "normal" driving conditions.
I coat the seals with a dielectric lubricant.
