Is Corvette a luxury car?

My stupid USAA insurance says it's a luxury car and charges me accordingly.
but I voted NO. There is nothing luxurious about the interior what-so-ever. The only thing close to it is the leather and the heated seats which I hardly use.
Yeah, it's a luxury to have because most people can't prioritize their life correctly in order to afford one... but that shouldn't make me have to pay what I do.

For me it is... mine is a 3LT with Nav and 2 tone seats and I never owned a well equipped car like that before. I like my C6 from the interior to the exterior !

If you have ever owned (or even driven) a luxury car, then it is obvious the answer is NO.

From Wikipedia; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luxury_car
"Luxury vehicle is a marketing term for a vehicle that provides luxury — pleasant or desirable features beyond strict necessity at increased expense (see: definition of luxury).
The term suggests a vehicle with greater equipment, performance, construction precision, comfort, design ingenuity, technological innovation, or features that convey brand image, cachet, status, or prestige—or any other discretionary feature or combination of features."
Later on down the page Wikipedia specifically categorized Chevrolet Corvette as "Sports car". JMO.

^+1,
vette is a luxury sport car. I mean, sit down into cobalt, or mazda, or nissan, or base bmw... i mean, u get leather seats stock, push button start, HUD and heated seats (if you ordered one with them), computer (tells you all kinds of temps and measurments)... don't see how a 5bmw has any more luxuries -adjustions on the seat.

Now that we got this figured out, lets all get over the fact that we own corvettes and think we're special and just enjoy them.
I swear every week we have a thread about is this the great american sports car, or is my car a luxury car, or is my car better than my neighbors car, or some bench racing (will my car beat this car in a race). Am I the only one that finds it annoying and sometimes obnoxious? We all love corvettes that's why we are here. We don't need to keep asking other members of a corvette board what they think of the corvette.

Yes it is luxury because it pleases the senses in styling, sound and exotic materials
Otherwise, I'd save $ and buy a Camaro.

My daughters Prius has more buttons then my '08 Z06, so, I don't consider it to be luxury. So this question really depends on the view of who is answering the question. Another point I didn't mention is that my Z06 is not a daily driver, I only drive it on nice days and it doesn't see rain. I'm sure most of my neighbors would consider that a luxury, agree?

Absolutely not. The C6 is one of the cheapest built cars I have ever owned.
The creaks, squeaks, rattles, excessive plastic, cheap panels, cobalt steering wheel, crappy stereo and horrid seats all disqualify this car from being luxury. The cheap build quality of Chevy's flagship car makes me cringe and has made me second guess my purchase many times.
Luckily the car is comfy and the performance is usually enough to make me forget its shortcomings. Awesome car? Yes. Luxury car? FAR from it.

I know I'm the minority here, but I think the Vette has been too much a GT car for a long time. It has too much luxury.
They make the car with all sorts of light weight materials in the body and chassis and then add the weight back with things like power seats, leather interior and a freaking power retractable steering wheel. (How hard is it to pull/push the steering wheel that we need an electric motor?)
I bought the car because it's the best performance car bargain on the market. The cars that compete with it in performance are nearly twice the cost. I would have actually preferred a minimal interior with light weight cloth seats, plastic panels and can use my own muscle power to adjust the seats and wheel.

For an 8 year old poll, what's amazing to me is that it hasn't been locked!
