Default Mr Bracket radar dect. mount

Anyone tried the Mr Bracket mount on a C6? Looks like it clamps to the mirror stem, but the stem on C6s appear to be short and I'm not sure if this would work.

Of course once I get the Vette (5 more weeks) I'll have a better idea but I've already bought an 8500 X50 and want to get it installed ASAP whne I take delivery.

I've already bought C-Magic polish and leather cond., and the parts to make my DIY NPP on/off switch and 1/4 open vacuum clamp. Cart before the horse syndrome I guess.

18 inch ivisa-cord and the visor mount I can't remember the exact name but someone will chime in! the visor mount is wonderful! this installation keeps the detector up and out of the way, it does'nt block your view and the thieves have a hard time seeing it form out side of the car, the "mirror mounts "are ugly and in the way IMHO

I've got a DIY inviscord. I just don't like not using the visor as I always use a sunscreen to block out the FL heat so the visor mount idea is a problem. I hate to go back to those suction cups. I may just try to fab my own bracket, but it's hard to do anything without the car. Longest 2 1/2 months of my life!

this visor mount goes on the screw for the pass. side visor clip right were the little yellow light is, they give you the longer screw, the drivers side visor is unaffected, it does limit the travel of the pass side, this is why they invented sunglass'es the mirror mount I've seen hangs it below the mirror,

"this is why they invented sunglass'es " My USAF days educated me quite well on eye protection and UV rays - I always wear SGs outside except at night.

I'm just trying to figure out a clean install that won't interfere with visors and line of sight. There is more than one mirror mount out there.

Yes, this may just work. Looks like some flexibility with location and you can still have functional visors. Thanks

Yes, a little and yes definitely. Since the mount depends on one of the sun visor screws, you have four choices for location. My visor works very well even with the detector there. Folding it over allows for hiding the detector quite a bit.

That's what I've had for almost 3 years and I really like the design. However, I have a V1 and because of it's plastic "top" bracket, it vibrates. Since it's plastic and not metal, it flexes causing the vibration. I insulated it between the bracket and mount but it still does. Obviously, it doesn't do this with the Escort.

I have the V1 and I use an invisicord to the unit. I have the unit up next to the mirror by the visor, but I just use the suction cups and holder provided. It works fine. Never fallen, does not seem to vibrate and located where I want it.

This is a nice looking, well thought out piece of hardware. I think it's time to change out the suction cups.

The blend mount is not yet available for our C6s. I have been waiting for it. Here is a page to let them know we will purchase when they are done with the RnD.

I have been using......

with good results although some slight vibration. I have tried them all available thus far and this one is the best available at this time.

this is the style http://www.bugmanweb.com/c6/escort.html i have and was cautious about it, i mean it only sticky holding your 400 dollar detector on right? After really cleaning the mirror and prebending the mount to the mirror and letting the alchohol dry good the mount is really on there, Think most guys who have issues with them falling because 1. they dont pre-bend the mount to the exact shpae of there mirror and 2. they dont take the time to really clean which kinda "key's" the mirror so the stickyness works the best. About 10 months i have had mine that way and its holding strong. If you are the type to drive the car to work and leav it out in the sunlight where the interior of your car gets as hot as the sun i would say "DONT" go with this style. its gotta give under those conditions, IMOP. regards, paul
