I just bought a 2009 Corvette and it already has problems. With less than 50 miles the airbag light came on. I took it back to the dealer the next day and they said they repaired a wire connector on the right seat. Now, with less than 800 miles the check engine light came on. The dealer said there was a crack in the fuel vapor return line at the left side fuel tank, which a sensor picked up low fuel pressure in the tank. They are putting everything back together right now, after having the car for 6 days. My question to you Corvette experts is this: what should I do? I have contacted Chevrolet through their website, and 2 people have called me, but they are not offering much, free oil changes!!!! I think 2 problems this early is unacceptable.
Also, not as important I guess, the stereo has low frequency distortion. It is the base system, not Bose, and the equalizer is set to Rock. When I listen to anything with a lot of bass, like The White Stripes or Tool, there is an annoying amount of noise at even moderate volume. I can turn down the bass and the noise is alleviated, but I feel like the system should handle it.
OK, what is your advice?
I don't think you have a leg to stand on with the stereo - it is what it is.
The other stuff - well, just bad luck I guess. While unfortunate and irritating things happen. I'd give it some time - maybe it's the end of the problems and you'll have a great relationship with the car. Don't dwell on it too much.
Regarding freebies from the dealer - let's see, free oil change with cracked rocker panel "BONUS" vs. I'll just do it on my own.........I think I'd pass. Try to get something where the dealer doesn't have to work on your vehicle - like the nice GM floor mats or rear GM cargo mat. That's a reasonable token to appease you.
Your problems are minor... seems they fixed at their expense, that is why the car has a warranty...I know a lot of people with other makes of cars... and almost all have some issues to be fixed by the dealer... It is a great car, but it is assembled by humans... Relax... take a drive... it always puts a smile on my face.

Very minor. Covered under warranty. Just be happy you don't have one of those Toyota's that start on fire.
Your basic questions was...What should I do? First, calm down. Your actual problems were minor, and were apparently taken care of right away with no BS by your dealer. My '09 roadster is now about 15 months old, with 6,000 miles on it and no problems. Give your car a chance. My then new '03 C5 developed a fluid leak in the transaxle within 2-3 months of purchase. I went nuts. But my local dealer fixed it under warranty, no later problems, etc. I lived through it. You will too. Have faith, its a great car. Besides, you can always upgrade your stereo - many people do, for Corvettes and other cars.
Hang in there buddy. The car is an awesome vehicle. Pretty gopod gas mileage since boyth the coef of drag and the weight are low. I have a 2008 coupe and it's been trouble free except for radio distortion in the rear which I am about to resolve. Just bought two new other kinds of cars and no distortion whatsoever. I think I need my amp changed.
Anybody heard of bad amps around October 2007 delivery?
warranty is the key brother. Ask yourself this question- aside from these annoying issues, do you love the way the car drives, handles and looks ? If the answer is yes, don't sweat it and take advantage of the warranty when needed. Call your salesperson up and beat em up a little for some extras.
These minor but annoying warranty issues is exactly why I bought mine locally. Probably paid about a grand more than I could have gotten it from one of the great forum vendors. I always wonder how you'd be received by dealers where you did not buy that brand new vette?
Mine's out of warranty but I did have 2 issues which required some farily expensive warranty work. I'd still have to think about buying a vette hundreds or even thousands of miles away! Seems like something to really consider when spending 50 or 60 grand....
Didn't have any problem with warranty work at local dealer after buying the car 1500 miles away.
More ticked off that the dealer that I bought it from should have known that the convertible top had a recall notice for replacing a bracket. They had 14 months to fix the problem.
Local dealer ordered the part within the week of when I returned with the new purchase.
You will probabley have more problems, I've had a bunch with my 08, nothing is perfect in life, let the dealer fix the problems under warranty and sell it when it goes out of warranty. Have fun driving the vette, and don't let the small things bother you. They are only 60,000 dollar cars with about 150,000 dollars worth of performance! You need to spend a lot more for perfection, like a Ferrari!

I've had 2 C6's and no problem with either. When I got my second C6 (2008 Z51 vert) I noticed driving it home from the dealer the cruise control wouldn't engage. I drove it back the next day and they fixed it....since then not a single issue or problem.
By the way I have a Toyota Highlander too and it is a great vehicle. I wouldn't knock Toyota....these guys know how to build a comfortable and reliable car.
